Playing Time

Playing time and starting positions are not a given they are earned!! Players who work the hardest and show the most commitment and respect for the team will be recognized and rewarded.

Coaches expect players to show up to practice on time ready to practice. It is a sign of disrespect to your coach and your team for you to show up late and disrupt a practice that has already started!!

Coaches expect players to show up to practice ready to play, properly attired ready to give 100%.

Players should take any home practice assignments given by the coach seriously and expect consequences if they blatantly disregard a coach's request for home practice ie: shooting free throws, practice dribbling, 100 outside shots etc., etc.

It will be considered showing disrespect for your team members if you do not do your part and practice what the coach is asking of you. Each player has an important role on the team and is expected to do his/her best to fulfill their role.

If it is obvious that the player is disregarding coach's practice requests, showing up consistently late to practices, making excuses not to practice HARD, has unexcused absences from practice, sideline coaching from parents and nonpayment of fees will all directly affect playing time in tournaments

PARENTS: Please, Please do NOT coach your child from the sidelines. The coaches have plays and strategies they are teaching the kids. Sideline coaching just distracts your child and it is not FAIR to the rest of the team when said player messes up the plays because he/she is listening to a parent instead of their coaches!! If there becomes any obvious distractions to your child while on the court he/she will be sat on the bench per each coach’s discretion.

Parents please realize we are representing Chico Blazin Heat with emphasis on respect. Please show respect for other teams, coaches and officials. Don’t embarrass yourself and your child by being negative or critical. BE POSITIVE!!! Our kids are learning life lessons and we all know that life is not always FAIR!

Players should realize that the stats that really count are turnovers, assists and rebounds, not individual points, if a player is showboating and taking ill advised shots the player will be sat on the bench per the coach's discretion.

Comunication

There will be a practice and game schedule posted to our website:
Players need to be responsible for knowing when/where their practice will be held. If a player needs a ride he/she needs to arrange that ahead of time. If you can’t find a ride call your coach or call Coach Tony, we can try to help with rides if needed.

Players need to show responsibility by informing his/her coach beforehand if they know they will be missing practice . If an emergency comes up please communicate with your coach as soon as you can. Unexcused absences will result in a loss of playing time in games!! Be Responsible!!
